Book Review By Louisa Eggleton
The Wedding Day by Catherine Alliott

Annie O'Harran is a single mother of a teen-aged girl named Flora. She is a short story writer, currently embarking on her first full novel.

She is also due to be married in six weeks to David, a wealthy London doctor. Annie gets the opportunity to stay at David's auntie's beach house in the country, where she can finish her novel and prepare for her wedding.

Annie falls in love with the place and spends time with her daughter exploring the woods, creeks and beaches.

Unfortunately, David's doddery auntie accidently double-booked the house and another man, an American named Matt, shows up, who has paid good money to be there, and refuses to leave. They agree to stay in the house together, as it is large enough for them all.
Annie spends a little time writing and visiting her sister and friends who are also holidaying nearby.

She also spends a lot of time with Matt and his son who has joined them, and soon realises she's beginning to fall in love with him - dangerous with her wedding only 5 weeks away!
Her fiance David begins having difficulty at work, and after he has a near death experience, he re-examines his life and decides to let Annie go to be with her other man.
