Book Review By Sandra Calhoune
Just Like Heaven by Marc Levy

Lauren Kline is a resident working at San Francisco Memorial Hospital when she is involved in a devastating car accident. Deemed brain dead by the doctors at the hospital, Lauren is operated on and goes into a deep coma. There is virtually no hope that Lauren will emerge from this coma or return to the vibrant, young woman she was before the accident. Six months have passed since the accident and Lauren's mother has rented out her apartment to a young architect named Arthur. Arthur gets the shock of his life when he sees a beautiful young woman huddled up in his closet. Arthur thinks the young woman named Lauren is crazy when she tells him that her body is lying across town in a coma at San Francisco Memorial hospital while her spirit is in her old apartment. Lauren tells Arthur that he is the only person in the last six months who has been able to see or hear her. When Arthur goes to the hospital to verify Lauren's story he is shocked to see a young woman who looks exactly like her in a deep coma. Against his better instincts, Arthur is forced to believe that Lauren is telling the truth. As Lauren and Arthur develop a strong romantic bond they must race against time to stop the doctors at the hospital from removing Lauren from life support.
