Book Review By Nathaniel Ford
Benedict Arnold: Patriot and Traitor by Willard Sterne Randall

Benedict Arnold was born in Connecticut in 1741. For a while he was one of America's heroes, a man who may have saved the entire American cause at the battle of Saratoga, but he was also America's most infamous traitor. He was obsessed with personal glory and wealth. He felt that the Americans did not appreciate him, so he joined the British. This act of treason would lead Benedict Arnold to become every bit as hated as he once was admired.
After the Revolutionary War ended, nobody in the English government would trust him, they were afraid that he would betray them just as he had betrayed the Americans. He had plenty of money, but none of the glory that he so desperately craved. He died a lonely and bitter man.
