| Sally has been living with her grandmother in the small town of Westfield ever since her mother died. Gran didn't think the boarding house Sally's father lived in was an appropriate place for a young girl. But, now Father has remarried and wants Sally to come live with him and his new family. Sally is excited, not only to live with him again, but to have a whole ready made family. There was Father's new wife, and her children -Don, who was a senior in high school, little Bobby who was three, and Dorothy who was only a year older than Sally. Sally thinks it will be a lot of fun to have a sister so close to her age. It'll almost be like being twins.
When Sally gets there, she finds that her new stepmother is very kind, just like a real mother. She also gets along very well with both Donald and Bobby. But, everything isn't right. She's put in a slow class, just because she came from a small town. She sometimes thinks Father cares more about his new family than he does about her. And, worst of all, Dorothy doesn't like her one bit. She thinks Sally is a countrified step sister, not a real sister and a friend. Sally has to find her place in her new home and change Dorothy's attitude towards her. | ||
