Book Review By Nathaniel Ford
Natalie: A Memoir By Her Sister by Lana Wood

Growing up the sister of Natalie Wood, Lana Wood was exposed at an early age to fame and fortune. Lana, the daughter of a domineering mother, and a submissive father, she was expected to follow her sister Natalie into showbusiness. Although she worked with Natalie on the classic John Wayne film, "The Searchers", and starred in the sixties television show, "Peyton Place", she never really enjoyed acting as much as Natalie did. Lana was married several times, and had a daughter named Evan. Evan's father was a failed actor who abused Lana during the marriage.
Lana witnessed Natalie's self-destructive behavior, and mentions a suicide attempt made by Natalie. She watched in amazement as Natalie dated a string of the most famous men in Hollywood, men like Warren Beatty, and Steve McQueen. Lana and Natalie had a falling out in the 1970s, and many friends of Natalie claim that Lana was always jealous of Natalie's success.
