Jerin is the oldest of 4 boys, one of the precious male progeny in a huge brood of female children that makes up the Whistler clan. He is coming of age soon, which means that he will need to be married off for a "brother's price" so his sisters can afford to buy a husband to father the next generation. He knows full well of his fate but can't help but wish for more. Jerin has never seen any females besides his relatives so he is surprised to save a half-dead traveler only to discover that she's a princess! And then to have a princess fall in love with him!
Jerin soon finds himself falling in love with the visiting royalty too, despite the impossibility of the match. But in saving the princess, Jerin has unknowingly stuck himself in the middle of a political intrigue that has been brewing for years, if not generations. | ||
