Book Review By Darryl Brooks
State of Fear by Michael Crichton

George Morton is a multi-millionaire philanthropist and Peter Evans his ideological lawyer in this eco-thriller by Michael Chrichton. On the verge of major international envirnomental symposiums, Morton orders his lawyer to pull all funding from the green groups he has been helping for years. Morton then disappears in a fiery crash and leaves Evans fighting for his life against eco-terrorists.

Aided by government spook, John Kenner and a handful of others, Evans discovers that the National Envirnmental Resource Fund has been gathering technology and placing it around the world with the intention of setting off global catastrophes to validate their existence and purpose.

The plot speeds toward an edge of the seat ride between environmental extremeists and the few people who know what they are up to.
