Book Review By Susan D. Minkalis
Finders Keepers by Mark Bowden

This is the story of Joey Coyle who found one million dollars. In 1981 in the city of Philadelphia, Joey stumbled upon a metal box laying in the street that fell out of the back of an armored truck. Lucky Joey found $1.2 million dollars, which was being transferred from a casino that contained all unmarked bills. Joey, an unemployed dockworker with an addiction to drugs was for once high on life naturally. Trouble surfaces due to his bragging of being the finder of the money to many, eventually led the F.B.I. to place Joey Coyle under arrest. Little did Joey know that the law dictates if one finds anything over the value of $250.00 one must seek and search for the owner before rightfully being the new owner.

Joey Coyle's two neighborhood friends were also involved with this unbelievable find and were reluctant to join Joey's decision of keeping the money. Joey, in his mid twenties, finds himself turning to the mob for help with the money and that turns into anxious paranoia for his life. He haphazardly shares the money with most anyone he comes in contact with as he proudly boasts about being the finder.

The whole escapade caused Joey more stress than ever imagined. He thought the 1.2 million dollars would solve his problems but instead it created much more.
