To the Far Blue Mountains by Louis L'Amour

Barnabas Sackett returns. First he returns to England, to the Sea, and then to the New World where he dreams of going further West to the Far Blue Mountains.

Barnabas must fight to go to those mountains, he sets up a trading post and becomes a legend in the area of Virginia. First he creates a future, with friends, family and the beginning of a legendary American family the Sacketts rooted in his sons. Along the way he befriends some tribes of Native Americans, while fighting to survive against others include the warrior Senecas. All the while dreaming of going to the Far Blue Mountains.
