Book Review By Mai Tsuji
Mustang Moon by Terri Farley

Samantha Forster's exciting summer is over, and she dreads her first day of high school. Not only that, but a strange stallion visits the ranch at night, and shows a keen interest in the pastured horses. Suspicious, Sam puts the events of missing mares and the stallion together. She encounters the renegade stallion himself, and she is absolutely certain that he had stolen all the mares. She turns to Brynna Olson, the BLM manager, for help.
But her troubles aren't over yet. When Linc Slocum, the rich and ignorant Hollywood play cowboy, loses a valuable mare, another battle is fought between Sam and Slocum. Still furious over losing the Phantom, he is determined to pin the blame on the stallion. He immmediately prints wanted posters of the Phantom in public with a $10,000 reward, which sets off a mad rush of ranchers and dudes chasing after any horse they set eyes on.
Sam knows that the Phantom is innocent, and she strives to prove it. With the help of her best friends, Jennifer Kenworthy and Jake Ely, and her history teacher, Mrs. Ely, she sets up a plan that will save her beloved horse.
