Book Review By Mai Tsuji
Desert Dancer by Terri Farley

Sam knows the Phantom's mares very well, and she is surprised to find his herd without the lead mare. Her worries are quickly covered during her father's marriage to Brynna Olson. As her father and new step mother go on their honeymoon, her Aunt Sue comes over for babysitting.
While it's winter break for Sam and her friends, she immediately plunges into trying to find the missing lead mare. When she and her aunt are at the BLM corrals, she meets Callie, a drop-out from high school. Sam goes to investigate Callie's new horse, and her heart breaks when she realizes it's the Phantom's lead mare. Sam is set on helping Callie tame the beautiful mare and at the same time, preventing Linc Slocum from harming wild mustangs again.
