Sam reluctantly takes in a gelding known for speed...and bad luck. She agrees to use him in the HARP program, as two new girls are arriving soon. When they arrive, Crystal and Amelia are indifferent and rude. Sam keeps the gelding's bad luck streak close in mind, and when someone gets bitten by a rattlesnake, is he really a bad luck horse?
Eventually, she figures out his problem and finds a way to have him sold, in a claiming barrel race. However, her rich neighboring rancher is interested in buying him for the highest price. Absolutely refusing to let him be sold to someone like him, she searches stubbornly for a good buyer. She then comes up with the perfect owner, and if the horse's bad luck streak is really gone, he'll have a happy life. | ||
