I love this book! (as well as the rest of the series). In this one, Maggie MacKenzie, an eleven year old girl who lives with her grandmother, Dr. J.J. MacKenzie (Gran), is failing school. Gran makes it clear to her that Maggie can't help out in the veterinary clinic untill her grades come up. In the meantime, Gran asks Brenna Lake, a girl from Maggie's school to do Maggie's chores. Maggie get's jealous. Then, all these sick puppies come in from the Farmers Market, and Maggie decides she has to put a stop to it. Gran asks some more kids from Maggie's school to help out untill things are back to normal. Maggie finds out that all these sick puppies are coming from puppy mills! After some major research, Maggie finds a way to put a stop to the puppy mill, arrest the man who owns it, and save and find homes for all the puppies. If you're like me, at the end of this book, you'll be cheering for Maggie and DYING to read the next in the series. | ||
