Book Review By Mike Harmer
Sick Puppy by Carl Hiaasen

Sick Puppy is an outrageous satire based on the American insistence on the creation of real estate, even if it means destroying the natural beauty and fragile environment around it. This particular work centers on the development of a Gulf coast ‘island', made in the image of yet another tourist resort. The creator of this artificial paradise is in for a shock - the natural habitat is defended by an eco warrior by the name of Twilly Spree.
The obviously deranged and aptly named Spree undertakes a stalking campaign against the developer, during which he exacts nature's revenge on him for any infringement, no matter how small. The retaliation taken is quite spectacular and humorous.
