when Elie Wiesel was a teenager, he and his family were taken to concentration camps by the Germans. He was separated from his mother and 3 sisters. Therefore, he had to go through the horrible experience of the camps with his father. In this memoir, Elie explains the tragic incident that happened to over 6 million Jews during WW2.

Throughout the memoir, he explains how the Germans treated the Jews in the concentration camps and how horrible it was.
