Colt Nightshade is searching for a friend's runaway teenage daughter, Liz. He believes that she is being held against her will, and is being forced to participate in the production of pornographic films. When it becomes apparent that he cannot find Liz without police help, he seeks out Boyd Fletcher, the one cop he trusts. Boyd assigns Lieutenant Althea Grayson to the case.
Colt and Thea immediately start out on the wrong foot. Colt is very easygoing, and doesn't care about doing things by the book. Thea thrives on law and order, and approaches everything professionally. At first Colt thinks that Thea is just a useless cop with no compassion, but he soon learns that that is not the case. He finds himself attracted to her, but Thea does her best to keep an appropriate professional distance between them. As time goes on and they get closer to finding Liz, their relationship becomes more serious. Colt finds himself in love with Thea and wanting a future with her, but Thea doesn't believe in his feelings for her. She is unwilling to trust him. | ||
