The year is 334B.C., just as Alexander the Great is beginning to set out to conquer the world. Amidst all the excitement of the Grecians, one man only wants to be left alone and yet is drawn into the intricacies of political intrigue.
His name is Telamon, a physician who is running away from his past in Egypt where he committed a murder. Because of this one chink in his armor, Telamon is blackmailed by Alexander's mother to go be with Alexander and protect him from spies and assassins. Shortly after Telamon arrives at the campsite, an assassin/spy is found amongst them. Alexander tells Telamon to discover the identity of the spy and report only to Alexander himself. Telamon, who maintains a disguise as the king's personal physician, begins his search to only be disappointed that his suspect ends up dying. Meanwhile, the army is moving onward to enter Persia at the Hellespont. After a long investigation, which includes some wonderful deduction by Telamon, and an intense battle sequence, Telamon begins to understand the character of Alexander better as he sees that Alexander has known whom the killer was the whole time and wanted for the killer to send misinformation to the king of Persia. Because of Telamon's intelligence, the king at the end sends Telamon on a special mission to match wits with the assassin and kill him/her. | ||
