Book Review By Jacob Mathew
The Afghan by Frederick Forsyth

The auther writes about terrorism and counter terrorism. The readers come across the extensive use of technology in tracking down the terrorists and the speed at which the Anti Terrorist Organizations share information and act on it in the post 9/11 scenario.

The American and British intelligence agencies come across a major Al Qaeda plot about which they have no clue. They do not know what, when , where and who it targeted. They have no source in Al Qeda to get any more information, the only way is to plant a mole in Al Qaeda, an impossible act by any means...

The Afgan is Izmat Khan, a five year prisoner of Guantanamo Bay and a former senior commander of the Taliban. The Afgan is also Colonel Mike Martin, a war veteran who have operated in almost all war zones around the world. While the Al Qaeda prepares for the big act in front of which 9/11 look very small.
