Book Review By Julie Gilbert
A Tangled Web - Last of the Jedi 5 by Jude Watson

Former Jedi Apprentice, Ferus Olin, reluntantly meets with Emperor Palpatine. He's told to go to Samarian city of Sath to right the workings of a saboteur. Someone has put a bug in the highly computerized city system so that personal identity information is switched between people at random. Without quick action, the city of Sath will explode in chaos. Initially, Ferus turns the Emperor down flat, but he eventually agrees to search for the saboteur once he learns his friends, Roan Lands and Dona Telamark, are Imperial prisoners charged with consipiring against the Bellassan government.
While Ferus follow's the saboteur's trail, his friends, Trever, Solace, and Oryon work to rescue Roan and Dona. They start by returning to Bellassa where they learn the prisoners are on a ship called True Justice, a place where political prisoners can be swiftly tried by Imperial judges and shipped off to prison planets. They rescue Roan and Dona by impersonating a judge, lawyer, and law clerk. Then, they charge to Samaria to help Ferus.
Ferus tracks the saboteur's trail through exploring motivation and searching for the escape ship. He's surprised to find he knows her: Astri Oddo. She did what she did to the computer system not only to save her son, Lune, but also with full backing from Samaria's prime minister, to shield those who had spoken against the Empire. Lord Vader shows up with a squad of stormtroopers soon after the plot is explained. Ferus' friends also show up. A fight breaks out and the heroes barely escape.
Ferus stays behind to let his friends escape, after all, he's still working for the Empire.
