The marriage gets rocky from there until they finally divorce. However Eric is not through with hurting Asher yet. He spreads the lie to her father that she has intentionally aborted her child. Her father refuses to speak to her after that. When Ty finds out later Eric's tale, he is furious with Asher and breaks things off with her. Asher is devastated but accepts it as her punishment.
