Book Review By Katrina Lo
Royal Dad by Leanne Banks

Prince Michel needs a wife. He has been widowed several years ago already leaving with him a son who has special needs. His advisors give him the requirements of the wife he must choose. But having his first marriage arranged by his parents, Michel wants his second to be of his own choosing. When Maggie Gillian appears in the palace to tutor his dyslexic son, it doesn't come to him that she will be the right woman for him although there is that simmering attraction between them.
Maggie sets herself up to the challenge when she has been hired to tutor Prince Max, Michel's son. One look at Max Maggie is moved by the boy's eagerness to learn. She sees discouragement in his face but the hope of learning is still present. Despite the strictness of Francois, Max's personal assistant, she gets around the rules to teach Max in unconventional but very fun means.
Maggie's unorthodox way of socializing makes her appealing to almost everyone. Michel is no exception. As days go by, he finds himself more attracted to Maggie and thinking about her. They eventually sleep together telling each other upfront that there will be no strings attached to the relationship. Maggie is progressing wonderfully with teaching Max how to read and write. Max's innocence and enthusiasm steal her heart and makes her fall in love with him. With Michel, she has also fallen in love but she knows she can't be the woman for him because she is not royal material. When Michel has been arranged to marry another European noble, Maggie is heartbroken but she accepts the fact that this is the way it should be for Michel. But Michel confides that there is no woman for him except her. Both of them confess love for each other. Maggie however knows that nothing is permanent with Michel and Michel is doing everything even making a new job for Maggie so that she won't leave. But the true test for their relationship lies in Michel's mother, the queen. When his mother returns, Michel fights for his love for Maggie and his decisions for his son and country. His mother sees that Michel is ready to take the kingship and decides to give the leadership to him. With Maggie she holds her judgment. Realizing how Maggie supports Michel and her grandson well, the queen decides to accept her as her daughter-in-law.
