He wishes for an honest woman who will like him for himself and not his money or looks. Stephanie seems immune to his charm. She disapproves of his arrogance and authority and thus catches his interest.
Stephanie rakes in a big account when she is asked to do the promotions of Michel Lanier's wife's movie. Her enjoyment with doing her job is dented by the presence of Raoul who relishes in always shaking her composure. She hates that he thinks she will jump at him just because he snaps his fingers. She sets out to prove him wrong by avoiding him, ignoring his phone calls, and refusing his apologies and dinner invitations. She has had enough of men in her life. Four years ago, she has had a serious relationship turning into an engagement. When she gets pregnant, her fiancée has told her to abort the baby so as not to complicate his plans. She has been furious and breaks off the engagement and raises her child alone. She vows not to commit to a man again after that relationship. She hasn't felt anything for any man again until Raoul who makes her senses alive just by his presence. When he comes into her house one day, her daughter Emma launches herself into him making him her friend.
