Book Review By Jane Davis
How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff

In England the protagonist is Daisy, a 15 year old American girl sent to England to live with her aunt, sister of her mother. Daisy never knew her mother, as she died giving her birth. This fact and the fact that her father is getting married to a woman that Daisy can not stand has left Daisy emotionally scarred and aneroxic. What happens when she gets to England is first a wonderful experience of being loved and accepted in a way she never experienced and then tragedy when a war breaks out that leaves Daisy and her cousins fending for themselves. Luckily for Daisy and her cousins they live on a farm and are able to live off the land, until soldiers occupy their home and split them up.
