On The Field With Mia Hamm by Matt Christopher

Mia Hamm was the youngest girl to play for the Women's U.S. team at age fifteen.
She was interested in soccer ever since she was a little girl and her full name is Mariel Margeret Hamm.   Her birthday is on March 17, 1972 and she moved around too much as a child. I respect her for that because even though she could never settle down for too long she still made friends and played sports. Also, not only was she awesome at soccer but she could play any sport you asked her too. She was always playing soccer after she found out that girls could play soccer.
I guess you could say she was a sort of child prodigy when it came to sports. Her parents adopted a younger brother named Garrett and he had a disease. He died later in Mia's life due to said disease. Like I said earlier, Mia could play any sport she wanted to and she tried out for football and made it. She preferred to play forward and liked to score a lot. She had many skills that other kids her age could not get.
She could play for a club team, school team and many other things such as academics. Finally though she quit her high school team and played for college at South Carolina University. She was a Texas All-State Player at age thirteen. She played in many world cup games and they won some and lost some. She got injured a lot because of teams that like to cheat. She took her team to the Olympics and won some of those and lost some of those.
Mia Hamm was such a good player that at age fifteen she worried some of the girls on the national team because they were afraid that she would take their place. This book did change my perspective of all soccer players because I started talking to some of the soccer girls at my Texas A & M and I'm not regretting it.
Well as far as I see it this book would be a good idea to read because even if you don't like soccer you will after you read this book. I know I did and it got me to talk to soccer people and find my wife.
