Professor Brenna Llewellyn meets Ryder Sterne when she accidentally crawls through his window, mistaking his cabin for her own. After this initial misunderstanding is cleared up, Ryder makes it clear that he wants to get to know Brenna better. Brenna is wary of Rider because he is like no one she's ever met before. She has lead a relatively sheltered academic life, and is unprepared for Ryder's primitave attitude and code of honor.
Ryder and Brenna sleep together, and Ryder becomes very posessive. He tells Brenna that she is now ;his woman. Brenna is convinced that what she has with Ryder is just a fling, and that it will eventually end. She is certain that when she falls in love and marries, it will be to a civilized academic, not a ruthless writer of sleazy men's fiction. But as her relationship with Ryder progresses, she begins to question her future and what she wants for herself. The adventurous side of her nature comes out, and she must choose between this new aspect of her life that she has discovered with Ryder and her old life of academia. | ||
