Book Review By Meghan Wotring
Just Ella by Margaret Peterson Haddix

It's the usually Cinderella story. Her father dies and she's stuck as her stepmother's and stepsister's as a servant. Next the Prince throws a Royal Ball, and Cinderella defies her stepmother and goes to the ball. Charming falls head over heels in love and takes her to the Palace.

For awhile Ella thinks this is her perfect destiny untill her tutor, Jed opens her eyes to what the castle really is. How boring and pointless all the etiqutte and lessons are. Soon she realizes, she doesn't love Prince Charming. But how can she break off the engagement without breaking his heart?

Soon she finds herself friendless and hopless. She has two descions; either rot in prision or get married. With all the time on her hand she hatches a daring plan to escape her fortress. A story of heroism and courage this is not the ordinary Cinderella.
