Book Review By Angel Manners
The Naked Marquis by Sally Mackenzie

Charles Draysmith has returned to Knightsdale as the new Marquis since the death of his brother and his wife two months earlier. He arrives to discover that his brother was very much an absentee lord whose left his two young daughter orphans and in the care of Charles himself.
Emma Peterson is the local vicar's daughter and she has taken up residence in Knightsdale's castle to act as a governess for the two young girls until their regular governess returns. She is astounded that Charles, a childhood friend, has finally returned to take up the reins as the new Marquis of Knightsdale. As soon as she sees him, she remember her adolescent crush she carried for him for many years.
When Charles sees Emma again for the first time in years, he is astounded by how she has grown into a desirable young woman, and he is also impressed on how well she deals with his young nieces. Charles decides she would be the perfect wife for him because she is suitable, desirable and there. When Charles starts spouting off all the logical reasons for them to marry, Emma promptly loses her temper and throws a ceramic dog at him!
Emma fights her attraction and secret love for Charles as he avidly courts her and seduces her. Charles, who looked at marriage as a logical solution, begins to fall in love for Emma, but the two have an obstacle neither expected, an old conspiracy that leads to lost treasure. The two must discover who is making secret forays around the castle at night, before the prowler decides Charles is the way and tries to get rid of him.
