Lord Brandon is travelling to London to save his cousin, Lord Robert, from a disasterous marriage. Robert is determined that he has fallen in love with his mistress, Elise, and has wrote several letters asking her to be his wife. On the eve of her capulation to him, she learns of the nefarious bet and informs Julian she never wants to see him again. Julian discovers that he truly loves Lilith, and when they are thrown together to stop her niece from eloping, they rediscover there passion and Lilith decides to accept Julian, despite the consequences.
