Book Review By Jess
Sheer Pleasures by Stella Cameron

When Attorney W.G. Phoenix takes a job as a masseuse at a private club in search of answers about a missing friend, she has no idea what she's getting into. Her best friend from childhood, April, has been missing for two years, and this exclusive club is the last place where she was seen. Phoenix has reason to believe that one of the owners of the club is behind April's disappearence, and will go to great lengths to find out which one. She becomes submerged in a foreign world of sex, lies, and crime, and has no idea who can be trusted. Her situation becomes more complicated when she begins to develop a sexual relationship with Roman Wilde, one of the five owners of the club, and one of her top suspects in the disappearence of her friend.
Unbeknownst to Phoenix , Roman is also working undercover to learn what happend to April. He is an ex-Navy SEAL who encountered April on a mission, as she was dying. He promised April that he'd look after her newborn baby, and ever since has made it his own personal mission to avenge her.
When Phoenix and Roman first hook up they are uncertain whether they can trust each other. Neither is willing to come clean with the other about their intentions at the club, but that does not stop them from falling in love. When someone begins to threaten Phoenix and physically attacks her, it becomes clear to them that they are both working on the same side. Phoenix explains her connection to April, but Roman holds back. He is afraid of the effect his information will have on Phoenix , and that it will ruin their relationship. When his secrets are exposed and the danger that Phoenix is in increases, Roman must work to regain her trust so that he can protect her before her real enemies can make their final move.
