Nadezhda is immediately suspicious when her eighty-four year old Ukrainian father falls hopelessly in love with a woman less than half his age (who he describes as “Botticelli's Venus....with superior breasts”) and plans to marry her so she can emigrate from the Ukraine to England.
Valentina, the busty bottle-blonde divorcee who has her sights set on Nadezhda's father, Nikolai, proves to be an impressive adversary who will stop at nothing to live the high life in England with her elderly new fiancé. Assuming incorrectly that Nikolai has a large inheritance from his wife who passed away two years previously, Valentina moves in and demands a new car, private schooling for her not-terribly-gifted son, and other luxuries she considers her due for putting up with an old man. Meanwhile, Nikolai seems more than willing to allow himself to be exploited just to have the pleasure of enjoying the scenery his voluptuous new wife provides. In order to overcome the threat Valentina poses, Nadezhda realizes she must kiss and make up with her loathed sister Vera, of whom Nikolai is terrified. The sisters set about going against their father's wishes in a bid to send the gold-digger back to the Ukraine. | ||
