Book Review By Sandra Calhoune
A Forgotten Love by Courtni Wright

Dr. Joni Forest is the acting administrator of the Emergency Room at City General in Baltimore, Maryland. Joni is thoroughly dedicated to her position and strives to make the faltering hospital successful. During her tenure Joni has made great strides in patient care and efficiently running the hectic inner city ER. Six months ago, Joni's lover and co-worker, Dr. Don Rivers left the position as administrator at the hospital due to his failed romance with Joni and his feelings of burnt out on the job. Although Don proposed marriage to Joni during the time of their romance, Joni turned down Don due to her belief that their careers are too hectic for a lasting relationship. Subsequently, Don leaves his position at City General and heads to Greece where he opens a medical clinic. Now, six months after Don's departure Joni receives a call from Don informing her that he is returning to the hospital, as the acting administrator. Joni is flabbergasted and upset. She can't believe that after six months of working her tail off Dr. Don Rivers is going to stroll back to the hospital and reclaim the position he abandoned. As Don prepares to leave Greece and return to City General, Joni is making a name for herself at the hospital by creating an action plan for the development of a clinic that will operate out of the hospital, thus serving more needs of the community on a daily, non-urgent basis. When Don arrives back in Maryland he realizes that Joni has made the administrator position her own by dedication and hard work. Although Don makes it clear that he will be competing with her professionally, he states his love to Joni and tells her that he won't rest until she is his in his life again. As Don and Joni work side by side at the hospital, Joni begins to see a new side of Don, one that makes her believe in mixing business with pleasure.
