| Collin's life changes in an instant when he gets off a bus and sees… himself walking across the street. He then looks into a store window and suddenly does not recognize the man he sees in the reflection. He now has a different body and a different name; according to the ID's in his own wallet, he is called Grant Burrows. He also has a golden ring on his finger that he cannot take off. As to his old life… it appears that someone else's living it.
Collin tries to figure out what happened and how he can get his life back. Soon enough, he understands that someone is trying to kill Grant Borrows, so he has to run for his life, pursued by the mysterious killer. He also learns that this “someone” is after the people from his old life whom he loves – like his sister Julie. When Collin saves Julie's life, she of course does not recognize him, and it takes some effort to prove that he is really her brother. However, he manages to convince her, and they start searching for answers together. Their search brings them to other Shifters, people who have experienced the same body and identity switch. They all have a ring like Collin's, and they all have some special abilities. Collin does, too: he discovers that he can move objects without touching them. As he gets to know the group of Shifters, he learns that they believe him to be the Bringer, a person who was prophesied about 7,000 years ago. Meanwhile, the Secretum of Six, a secret society that is behind of all this wanting to change and control the world, is closely watching Collin. Their plan is to change him into a different being with supernatural abilities who will serve their purposes. The task is appointed to a member of the secret society known as The Keeper. | ||
