Expecting Thunder's Baby by Sheri Whitefeather

20 years after divorcing her husband, Carrie Lipton finders her ex, Thunder Trueno, waltzing back into her quiet life in Cactus Wren County, Arizona. In order to interrogate Carrie regarding a missing persons case he is investigating for his private investigations firm, Thunder shows up on Carrie's doorstep. Both Carrie and Thunder realize that they are still dangerously attracted to each other, despite their tumultous past. Having married at the tender age of 18 due to Carrie's pregnancy, everything fell apart for the couple due to Carrie's miscarriage and Thunder's intentions to enlist in the army. Now, twenty years later, Thunder suggests that Carrie join him for a vacation at his beach home in Los Angeles. What Thunder is suggesting is a simple affair so that they can both get each other out of their systems. Despite her sensible nature, Carrie decides to live on the edge a little and accepts Thunder's proposition. As Thunder and Carrie embark on a passionate affair, their painful past keeps cropping up. Carrie is tormented by the loss of their baby and Thunder's inability to tell her he loved her during their relationship. When Carrie discovers that her reckless affair has left her pregnant once again, Thunder insists that they remarry. But Carrie is wary of reliving their past failures. As Thunder tries to convince Carrie that they are destined to be together Carrie must search her heart for answers.
