Last Shot: A Final Four Mystery by John Feinstein

In Last Shot: A Final Four Mystery, main characters Steven "Stevie" Thomas and Susan Carol Anderson are winners of a fourteen and under United States Basketball Writing Association (USBWA) writing contest. With their victory they both received press credentials to the Final Four. Stevie and Susan Carol are talking in a loading area of the New Orleans basketball stadium when they overhear MSUs star player, Chip Grabber being blackmailed. They pose as Chip's cousins to get by a few guards and eventually talk to Chip, in person. They learn that Chip was being told to throw the championship game or else his dad, the coach of MSU, would be fired and all of the teams wins for the season would be taken away from them. The kids and Chip work together to try to stop the blackmailer, before it was too late.
