Bart Minnock, the young founder of a upcoming gaming company, is found decapitated in his holo room which is locked from inside. The room is empty save for Bart's horrific remains and the latest game that his company is working on. When NYPD's technical team tries to retrieve the disc, it self-destructs and Roarke, Feeney and McNab find themselves racing against time to salvage it.
Naturally, Bart's friends and co-owners of the gaming company U-Play, Cill, Var and Benny are the prime suspects. But how did any one of them manage to get inside a lock room and vanish without leaving any trace on the security videos? Lieutenant Eve Dallas is terribly out of her depth when it comes to technology, but the best when it comes down to hunting down the bad and the vicious. When Cill is found in a near-dead condition at her empty apartment, Eve knows that the killer won't be satisfied with just one murder. | ||
