A holiday romance between Sabrina Chase and Matt August turns deadly after Matt's former boss turns up unexpectedly. Sabrina Chase has lived her life in the shadow of dominating men and wants to break free. During a holiday, she tries to pick up a stranger in a bar, attracted by his intense brooding looks. In a drunken state, Matt August, a former special services operative whose wife cheated on him, decides to teach Sabrina a lesson and warn her off from picking up strange men. Later, Matt feels remorseful and apologizes for his actions. Sabrina returns home to the US. Matt is approached by his former boss to take up one last assignment for a huge sum of money. It will also give Matt a chance to redeem himself and get rid of the cloud that still remained over his career after he bungled his last job.
Matt's ex-wife asks him to take care of their teen-aged son. He goes to the US to pick up his son and meets Sabrina again. Both of them realize that they are very much attracted to each other. Matt and his son moves in with Sabrina. He decides to take up the assignment and sets off for Central America leaving his son in Sabrina's care. Matt soon realizes that his assignment is not as simple as it seemed to be. His former boss has a hidden agenda and has arranged for Matt's son to be kidnapped to ensure his loyalty to the task.
