Reverend Gerald Le Claire, the head of a powerful televangelist church believes God wants him to be president so he can make the country better. His aide, Robert Dunbar intends to make that happen and the first order of business is for the Reverend to preach about the death of the twelve Solomons. In the last year, at different times and in no particular order eleven US circuit court judges have been killed in suspicious circumstances.
FBI Agent Daniel Safer pulls Mary Crow, an assistant district attorney in the Greater Atlanta area, out of a wedding celebration on Christmas Eve. He wants Mary to persuade her closest friend fourth district court judge Irene Hannah that she needs protection. Mary agrees to accompany Agent Safer to North Carolina and try to talk some sense into her friend, but fails at her endeavor. Mary decides to protect Irene herself but within days Hannah turns up missing and not soon after that Mary vanishes as well. A DARKER JUSTICE is an exciting suspense thriller with some elements of human-made horror. After the recent ugly 9/11 events that have shaken up America, the events in Sallie Bosel's work seem plausible and mild in comparison. The characters are very well drawn, the pacing is fast and the action pulls the reader in from the very first page. Harriet Klausner | ||
