In the kingdom of Westmark, a printer's apprentice named Theo suddenly finds himself on the wrong side of the law when police loyal to the scheming, authoritarian Chief Minister Cabbarus threaten to destroy his master's printer, and his master fights back. He is forced to flee the capital city, and makes friends with a showman and his servant, and they are later joined by a street girl named Mickle, who has a very mysterious past. After a series of adventures, they are captured by Cabbarus and learn that the power-hungry Chief Minister is manipulating the king, who has been grieving for his dead daughter for six years, and that he wants them to play a part in his rise to power. | ||
