Book Review By David Loftus
Lion in the Valley by Elizabeth Peters

In the fourth of the Peabody mysteries, Amelia and Radcliffe are on their way to the season dig when the annoying Russian Kalenischeff is found fatally stabbed in the bed of a pretty, single socialite in Cairo. She has disappeared. The "Master Criminal" (and master of disguises) who first surfaced in _The Mummy Case_ drives Amelia to distraction because he appears to be gunning for her, and eventually reveals himself to her. Ramses, now about seven, continues to be charmingly obnoxious and incidentally helpful.
