This excellent Nobel-winner is the first of the Ringworld trilogy.
A pupeteer - a tripple-legged double-headed creature, hires Lois Wu and the cat-like Kzin "Speaker-to-Animals" to explore a weird phenomenon: the Ringworld, and determine if it or it's builders poses a danger for the pupeteer race. In this book there are still many unanswered questions, such as who built the Ringworld? Why is it inhabited by humans? etc. These questions going to be answered only in the sequels. | ||
