Book Review By David Loftus
Mrs. 'Arris Goes to New York by Paul Gallico

In her second big adventure, Mrs. Harris the London cleaning lady decides to rescue the 8-year-old boy next door. He is the son of a GI and an English girl who parted, now mistreated by the large English family who took him in. Mrs. Harris hopes to spirit the kid to America and find his rightful father. She takes her fearful, boisterous friend Violet Butterfield, and has many amazing encounters with the French ambassador, a Rolls Royce driver, a hillbilly superstar, and all the men who have the GI's name but are not the boy's father. Not as great as the first book but another charming tale from Gallico.
