| Hugh the Relentless and Lady Alice are searching for the same thing; and unusual green stone that would secure Hugh's position as leader of his fortress. They agree to a betrothal of convienence, but Hugh also wants someone to run his household while Alice wants to enter a convent to study. When they find the stone, they realize that the greed that surrounded it has not completely vanished, putting them both in serious danger.
