Book Review By Christine Hung
The Ape Who Guards the Balance by Elizabeth Peters

The archaeological season of 1907 brings the Emersons back to Egypt, where they plan to continue their work in the Valley of the Kings. However, after the younger Emersons acquire an authentic copy of The Book of the Dead, the mutilated corpse of a young woman is found in the Nile. Whether the crime is related to the theft of Mr. Geoffrey Romer's Egyptian antiquities collection in London - and perhaps to the Master Criminal, Sethos - is the subject of an investigation by the Emersons that could put all their lives at risk.
