Ransom, the hero of the first two books ('Out of the Silent Planet' and 'Perelandra'), takes something of a back seat in the action but masterminds the counterattack. The race is on to revive or resurrect Merlin. The question is, will whose side will he be on if he can be brought back?
The action is seen through the eyes of a sociology lecturer, who is a most unwilling hero. Society will be taken over by great evil from without and within unless he can find it in himself to lay aside personal ambition and do what he knows to be right. A very rich and exciting book. | ||
