| Charlotte Arkendale is searching for the person who killed one of the customers of her investigating business. She hires a new employee, Baxter St. Ives, to help her in the quest. Baxter cringes at the thought of being someone's employee, but takes the position because he too is looking for the killer-and he thinks that it could possibly be Charlotte.
