Steve Hodel is a retired Los Angeles Police Detective working as a private investigator. When his father, a noted surgeon in Hollywood and a businessman in Asia, died in 1999, Hodel found pictures and evidence in his father's effects that led him to believe that his father was a suspect in the infamous Black Dahlia murder in 1947.
Hodel iniated an investigation and found more circumstantial evidence that his father did indeed commit the murder and other similar homicides in the forties. In this period of time his father was involved with an abortion ring which was making payoffs to the police. Abortion at that time was a serious felony investigated by Homicide detectives, but LAPD officers were corrupted by a group of physicians involved in illegal abortions. | ||
