Book Review By Victoria Conyers
The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham

The book tells us of society destoyed. Green comets fly over earth, blinding eveyone who sees them. The hero, Bill, was in hospital at this time with his eyes bandaged, after he was attacked by a new breed of genetically modified, carniverous, seemingly intelligent plants called "Triffids".He discovers that almost everyone else is blind, and society quickly becomes a game of 'survival of the fittest'. Bill rescues another seeing woman called Josella. The couple fall in love, as they try to continue their lives in a world dominated by the triffids
