The Midnight Club by James Patterson

A special agent is critically wounded in an undercover sting operation to bring down the head of a top secret criminal's club know as The Midnight Club. His battle to recovery is long and hard but affords him just the edge he needs to refresh his manhunt. More murders take place, even the alleged murder of the Mastermind himself. It is up to special agent, Stef to discover who got to his nemesis first and to make sure that he indeed is dead. While investigating, police corruption overflows, teaming up Stef with an unlikely partner and together they expose the bad guys and dish out justice first hand.
