| Best-selling author Tananarive Due, along with her mother Patricia Stephens Due, exposes the ups and downs of the ongoing struggle for equal rights for African-Americans in a society that frequently subjugates them to less-than-first-class status. Mrs. Due was an activist during the turbulent Civil Rights movements of the 50's and 60's. She participated in various sit-ins and jail-ins that sprang up all over the South during the period. Such actions resulted in monumental changes that altered the Southern social landscape.
