This is a story about a 16 year-old girl who has to put up with an abusive father. When her father attempts to marry her off to another abusive man, she, Sarah, decides to take matters into her own hands and pretends to be a man to become a Union soldier in the Civil War. After Sarah's secret is found out, she becomes a spy for the Pinkerton Agency.
